This year has been my favorite in terms of photographing some of the most amazing people and some of the most beautiful places. Roger and Erica (or Rogerica, as they are commonly referred to in our household) just celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary. By their 10th anniversary, they will be living in Thailand! Right now their whole life is all about preparing for this move. They have completely simplified their life, selling nearly everything that they are unable to take with them on this new adventure. Seeing their determination and adventurous spirit is so incredibly inspiring!
Roger and Erica have hiked around this beautiful, forestry, meadow in the past, and it ended up being absolutely perfect for their anniversary session. The rain led to an extremely romantic tone and saturated colors. Rain sessions are probably my favorite, but it definitely takes a certain type of couple to pull it off!
We took a quick break to warm up and drink hot cocoa at Sorensen's Resort, which is where Roger and Erica went for their honeymoon. I love when locations have a special meaning to the couple! I think it makes each session unique and personal.
P.S. Roger and Erica took Eddie and I to their favorite restaurant in Carson City, Thai Thai. The food was amazing, and it was so much fun to see R&E practicing the Thai language with the owners, who they have grown quite close to. Again, I'm so encouraged by their attitude and determination, and I can't wait to go visit them in Thailand!
